The UKRN is delighted to welcome eLife and the Hidden REF as new stakeholders, strengthening a shared commitment to improving research practices and fostering inclusive recognition within the scientific community.

eLife is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating scientific discovery through a research communication platform that promotes responsible scientific practices.

The Hidden REF, originally a UKRN initiative, has evolved into a key stakeholder organization with significant backing from Research England. It champions a fairer, more inclusive approach to acknowledging all contributors to research.

With closely aligned missions, UKRN, eLife, and the Hidden REF are united in their goal of advancing research culture. UKRN focuses on reproducibility and transparency, eLife supports responsible research communication, and the Hidden REF highlights the contributions of all research participants. Together, they aim to build a more open, accountable, and equitable research environment.

From our new members:

Hidden REF

We are delighted to join UKRN as a stakeholder and contribute to its vital work in fostering a robust and open research culture. At Hidden REF, we recognise the essential yet often overlooked contributions that make research possible, and we believe that collaboration with UKRN will help drive greater recognition and inclusivity across the research community. Together, we can champion the diverse roles that underpin excellence in research and ensure they receive the visibility they deserve.
