Banaz has a background in pharmacy and pharmaceutical science (Master’s and PhD) from UCL. She became enthusiastically involved in improving research reproducibility and transparency after identifying issues during her postdoctoral work. She played a key role in UCL’s efforts to promote open research, starting with the university’s 2019 ‘Transparency in Research’ statement. Working part-time with UCL’s Research Policy team, she evaluated training on research transparency and raised awareness of open research. Simultaneously, in her fellowship at UCL’s School of Pharmacy, she developed guidance on responsible and reproducible research. Over the past few years, her efforts have significantly increased awareness of open research, though progress varies across disciplines and career stages. Banaz Jalil’s full profile
