A new podcast, “The Storyology Podcast”, hosted by materials scientist and storyteller Dr. Anna Ploszajski, is set to examine the power and pitfalls of communicating science with story. Each episode delves into the complex dynamics between scientific research and narrative, uncovering how storytelling influences science communication, from funding stages to publication, media coverage, and the general public.
Episodes aim to answer critical questions about how stories shape public policy, healthcare decisions, and even legal systems, offering insights into how two of the strongest forces in society affect our everyday lives- from GP appointments to justice.
This podcast is made in partnership with the UK Reproducibility Network, Sonic Screen Lab at University of the Arts London and StoryArcs at Bath Spa University. StoryArcs is an Arts and Humanities Research Council funded programme.
